Description Dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) is a sulfated polysaccharide with variable molecular weights. Administration of DSS causes human ulcerative colitis-like pathologies due to its toxicity to colonic epithelial cells, which results in compromised mucosal barrier function.
Product Overview This product can be used in the studies on dextran sulfate for inducing colitis in experimental animals. Recommend concentration of dinking water is 2-4% for mouse and 3.5-5% for rat.
